The Mask I Wear
by Jennifer Cantu
The mask I wear hides my true identity.
The mask I wear hides my true feelings
and thoughts that I am scared to show.
Only a select few know my true thoughts and
feelings, but still there is so much that I leave unsaid.
Afraid of their reaction to my true feelings.
So many things going ’round and ’round in my head,
don’t know what to do, don’t know what to say,
don’t even know if the feelings that I have are true.
My tears are the only things that show
my true feelings.
