Solomon School
Solomon School is located on the northwest side of Chicago. Solomon School is a multi-ethnic, multicultural neighborhood school with a population of 400 students.
Solomon is economically and academically diverse. About 52% of the students are low income; 28% English Language Learners, and 26% require special education services.
Solomon has maintained high scores on standardized tests: Reading 86%, Math 88%, and Science 83%. The school has been named top ten of Chicago neighborhood schools by the Chicago Sun Times for the past three years.
Students are engaged in a variety of academic programs. Chinese language, Accelerated Math, Poetry, Tumbling, Guitar, Violin, Sewing, Knitting, and Basketball are some of the extracurricular programs offered to the students.
As part of the Northwest Magnet Cluster Program, students at Solomon have been focusing on literature and writing. Students have been exposed to a wide range of literature and their writing skills have improved over the years.
