Obama’s Speech: What It Meant to Me
by Benhur
I was curious to hear what President Obama would say about our education in his speech because I thought it was going to be cancelled because of all the negative media that surrounded it. As I listened to him say, “You are responsible for your own education”, I knew that I had to listen in school. He also helped me realize that if I didn’t succeed the first time around that I shouldn’t give up. I will keep trying and go on to bigger heights.
As he continued with his speech he said that our world depends on our education. I was thinking to myself, “How can my education help out the world?” Then he said that we can make products that put less pollution in the air and that won’t damage the Earth’sozone layer. He continued to talk about how we can grow up and do better for our society.
When he mentioned about the importance of going to college I thought to myself that I want to do better so I can go to college to become a doctor, lawyer, or even a judge. His speech truly inspired me to do better in school and to never give up.
