A Special Present

Some people decorate their tress, some people, open their gift, but I never got a present for Christmas. I always act like if Christmas was a normal day.

My name is Brianna. I was born in 1995. I am 12 years old. I always wanted to meet my grandmother, but she died on December 25, 1993, 2 years before I was born.

I have a younger brother; his name is Edgar. He gets teased at school. The neighborhood kids throw eggs at our house, also tissue paper at our backyard. Years before my teachers gave us an assignment about how we celebrated Christmas, but when I told my teachers that I did not celebrate Christmas. They didn’t believe me so they called my parents to see if it was true.

Ding dong… I opened the door. It was a police officer asking to speak with my mother. I was in the living room with my mother. When she was speaking with the officer the police officer was telling us that my brother was in the hospital because he was shot and it was a possibility that he was going to die. Two days later doctors said that he was going to live. That was not only the first present for me on Christmas, but it was also the best!!!
