Isabella's Story
by Isabella
I should have known this day was going to happen sooner or later. It was a day from Thanksgiving the worst day of the year. That was my opinion about Thanksgiving. Of course everybody else's opinion was much different. It sounds like so much fun spending your day waiting eight hours for a piece of meat ( turkey ) to cook slowly, getting fat from eating so much turkey, and do dumb celebrating for a turkey. I know I sound pessimistic, but it's true. Out of all of those things I think the most boring thing is to listen to everybody talk about it. By the way my name is Turkilicious. (My mom loves Thanksgiving.) The most boring people to talk to around Thanksgiving are my five best friends. Their names are Kelly, Mandy, Lilly, Christine, and Rachel. They’re the best people ever except around Thanksgiving. “Are you guys going to dress up like a turkey for Thanksgiving’’? Mandy asked. “So can talk about something else besides Thanksgiving’’. I exclaimed. “If you don’t want to talk about it you can go’’. Rachel said nastily. “Well fine if you’re going to be like that maybe I will leave’’. I exclaimed. I walk slowly to the door of Christine’s house when Christine stops me. “You guys you know that Turk hates Thanksgiving’’. Christine said exasperated. “Which frankly I don’t get’’. Christine added. “Fine we’ll talk about something else, but you know you we need to plan because Thanksgiving is not that far away’’. Lilly sighed. “What do you guys want to talk about now’’? Kelly asked. “I want to talk about Thanksgiving, but since we can’t I’m open to anything’’. Mandy said annoyed. I tried to think of something that we could talk about so we wouldn’t have to talk about Thanksgiving. Let’s see now we could talk about our trip to Cancun for the heat. “What about our trip to Cancun we can talk about that right’’! I said successfully. “No I don’t want to talk about our trip to Cancun we already know everything about it. Kelly realized. Come on think. The upcoming party for the 6th graders! “Let’s talk about the upcoming party for the 6th graders’’! I said not sure what was going to happen. “Well we haven’t talked much about the party… sure why not. Mandy said. So we talked about the party all day. The next morning it was Thanksgiving the worst day of the year. The day passed quickly which I was grateful for. After the whole day I changed my mind about Thanksgiving. Maybe it wasn’t the worst day of the year. One thing was for sure that Thanksgiving wasn’t the worst day of the year.
