Deep Trouble

by Taylor, 6th grade

It all happened on a rainy day.  It was so bad that it felt like it was raining cats and dogs.  My mom and I were sitting in the living room watching Blues Clues.  I told my mom  that I had to use the bathroom because it was a commercial.  When I went to the bathroom, I saw scissors.  I thought, “Well, I do want to cut something!”

You know how when you are little you don’t know what you are doing and you want to destroy everything?  Well, that is what it felt like to me.  So when I went to my room, I had the scissors in my hand.  I was thinking if I should cut my teddy bear’s ears off or cut my favorite toy’s long skinny tail off.  Then it came to me.  My mom said something about me getting a haircut soon by my Aunt Nadien.  So then I was thinking maybe I will do her a favor because she is very busy.  I grabbed the scissors and started cutting my whole ponytail off.

When I was finished, my mom started to call my name.  When she first said,
”Taylor!” my heart felt like a pancake – still and not able to move.  I picked up all of the hair and scissors, then my mom walked into the room.  Man, that look on her face was as scary as a bull coming to head-butt you!  I started crying and said I was sorry.  Then at that moment, I knew I was in Big Trouble!

From this experience I learned never ever to put a pair of scissors next to my head, and always to let my aunt cut my hair.
