Jordan SchoolPrincipal: Willie J. White III “Education is our number one priority” at Jordan Community School located in the far North-East side of Rogers Park. We are one block West of Clark and one block South of Howard, the border street between Chicago and Evanston. Jordan school opened its door to the Rogers Park Community in 1993. Our school has an enrollment of approximately 690 students who attend pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Fifty-six percent of our students are Hispanic and 22% are English Language Learners. A little over 42% of our students are African American, including other ethnic groups of Black descent and less than 1% of our student population is White. We have welcomed refugees from Somalia and Burundi Africa who are adjusting and advancing quite well in their acquisition of English as a Second Language. Jordan Community School instills students with the joy of learning while providing an environment driven by high expectations for all students and staff. We are committed to supporting the needs of all students, teachers and the overall school community by enriching the school environment through volunteer efforts, collaborative partnerships and the utilization of the Comer School Development Model.
