Jake's House

by Jimmy, 3rd grade

“Mommy, I want to go to Jake’s house now please,” I yelled, begged, and complained.  “Finally, we are here.”  My mom told me to shut up.
Jake’s mom came out and let us in.  We were the first ones there.  I waited for Gus and Jake to arrive.  Jake had football practice.  Since they weren’t there yet, I had to find something to do.  But I couldn’t find something to do.
“Hey Jimmy,” Taylor, Jake’s sister exclaimed.
            “Yeah?”
“Do you want to help me with PTA?”
“Why not!  What am I supposed to do?”
“Well, do you see this sign?  We’re supposed to hang this on the door, hide behind the couch, and surprise teachers and parents.  After that, we ask if they saw the sign.”
“Wow!  We have to remember all that every time a teacher comes?”
            “Yup!”
            “Okay, let’s get to work.”
After scaring ten teachers, we got bored.  Taylor explained, “After this one, we can go to the basement and watch a movie.”
            “Okay.”
But that next one was Gus!  I was sooo happy to finally see Gus.  Gus and I ran around and played tag, but then we got bored.  We went to the basement and watched that movie.  But that’s when I met Tessa, Jake’s little sister.  She can get a little rough, but when you get to know her, she’s not that bad.  So we watched a movie, and in the middle of the movie, Jake arrived!  I was so happy that Jake, Gus, and I were all together!
