A Ride to Africaby Amanda, 4th gradeOnce there was a girl named Sam. She had twin brothers that were in high school. Sam was only in the fifth grade. Their parents died in a car accident. Sam’s brothers took care of her. Today, Sam’s brother, Johnny, was taking her to Africa. Jon, her other brother, didn’t feel safe about this. In his head he was thinking, Sam always gets curious. And Jonny gets carried away a lot. “Please!” they said. Jon said, “No!” They kept trying to get him to say yes but he still said no. “One more time,” said Jonny. But Jon finally said, “NO! And that’s final. Jonny and Sam were very sad. Jon said, “If you are so sad, then go up to your room!” So they both did. Jon cared deeply for his family as boss of the house. That night when everyone was asleep Jonny carefully tiptoed to Jon’s room to see if he was asleep. Jonny didn’t know if Jon was really asleep. When Jonny was just about to go back to bed and forget the trip he heard a snore. Now Johnny surely knew that he was asleep. Jonny went to go wake up Sam. But they only had 3 tickets. Who were they going to give the ticket to? ‘I know!” said Sam. “I’ll take my best friend, Danielle.” “Shh!” said Jonny. “You’ll wake up Jon.” Then they snuck out of they house. They went to the car and drove to Danielle’s house Sam asked Danielle’s mom if she could go on the trip. But she said no. So Sam and Jonny went to the airport and used only tow tickets. Since Sam lived in New York, it was at least going to take a day or two. The next day when Jon woke up it was so quiet. Sam and Jonny were usually really loud. So he assumed that they were in the kitchen. After he got dressed he went to go see if they were in the kitchen. But they weren’t in there so he checked everywhere in the house. When he got into the living room he saw a note on the table and began to read it.
Jon ran out the door as fast as he could go. He ran out the door so fast he didn’t even have time to be angry. Where’s my car? He thought for a moment. And then yelled, “They took my car!” Now he was really angry. He ran back in the house and got the phone. He called his best friend and asked to borrow his car. Just when his friend said yes he hung up the phone and ran straight to his house. When he got to his friend’s house he got the car key and drove away to the airport. When he got to the airport it was very late. Only one guy was open. He got the ticket but the flight was to leave the next day. Jon was afraid to get on planes, but he had to do it. Meanwhile, Sam and Jonny ended up in the wrong place. Just then, the pilot realized they were in Utah. Everyone stayed on the plane. For three hours Sam and Jonny played their video games. The plane stopped in mid-air and started to go down! Sam got so scared she passed out. To Be Continued_.. |
