A Happy Thanksgiving

by Charly, 5th grade

Once upon a time in a joyful forest, lived three turkeys that were friends. All of the turkeys wanted to do something for Thanksgiving together. They all assigned each other jobs to do. Feathers, one of the turkeys, had the job of cooking the food. Birdy, the other turkey, had the job of cleaning the house. Then those two turkeys went to work. The other turkey helped cleaning, cooking, harvesting food, and did all the little extras. Her name was Gobble. Quickly the turkeys did their jobs, so they could do together things like washing dishes, doing laundry, and the entire household chores. While they did that they sang songs, danced and had fun. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. It was their friend Chipmunk. In her hands there was a basket of decorations and chestnuts. The chestnuts were for making chestnut pie. Chipmunk came to their house to help put up the decorations.

Promptly at 6:00 p.m. they all sat down and lit the candles. Feathers brought out the food, he could not carry everything so Chipmunk wanted  to help. Before they ate they all sang a Thanksgiving song and here is how it  goes:

     It's Thanksgiving
     It's Thanksgiving
     Sit everyone down
     Eat all the turkey
     Eat all the food
Let's hope you have a happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy,
     Thanksgiving

Then all of the happy animals ate their feast. For dinner they had pies, struddles, cakes, cupcakes, veggies, fruit, jellies, nuts, berries, and all with a lot of honey. After dinner they all were so full they thought they had gained a hundreds pounds. Then they all went home and thought for next year, for some holidays like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgivings, and for their birthdays, they will all celebrate those holidays together. all of the animals agreed to have those holidays together. Feathers was so psyched about this agreement he wanted to have another Thanksgiving right there and then. The animals want back inside and had another wonderful Thanksgiving.
